Christoffer Relander was born in Finland, and has remained there up until now. He fell in love with photography when serving with the Finnish Marines from 2008 - 2009. I have chosen to include Christoffer in my project as I feel that although his work isn't primarly aimed at 'disguise', his use of shrouding his subjects in nature and shrubbery is very similar to what I plan to achieve later in my development. It is also a very interesting way to experiment with my theme.
This first photograph features a teenager, hidden by a hood. In the second image that he has placed on top, we can see a thick, wintery forest. This makes the photograph feel quite cold, emphasised by the models pale face, and the white background of the image.

This second photograph fefatures a young child, with a jovial smile on his face. The other image we can see is thick tree branches, however unlike the first image, this one doesn't intrude into the primary image as much - meaning the boys face is still very clear. I particarly like the use of this techinque because you can alter the image to reflect the subjects emotions. For example, the first photograph features cold forests, which feel isolated and lonely - the models expression is serene, reflecting this mood. In this second photograph, the boys is smiling happily - reminiscent of a childs innocent and harmless view of the world. This reflects the tree's behind, as they are full of life - green and healthy.
In conclusion, I particuarly like Christoffer's work, and would like to experiment with it in this project - though I don't feel that it is something I'd be likey to continue up until my final piece.
