"Autumn."
This photoshoot was a complete spur-of-the-moment type of shoot. The model in the photographs is myself, so this is a self portraiture shoot. My intention was to recreate Winter Kelly's designs, where there is a single hue of colours overall. I decided to title this piece "Autumn" due to the oranges and reds, which remind me of the colour leaves go during this particular season. Also, the floral pattern on the mask reminds me of branches.
In order to do this shoot, I used a mirror in order to see the liveview on my camera screen to get a rough idea of the angle I was shooting at. This first photograph was shot at an angle slightly looking down on myself in order to create a shadow on my eyes behind the mask. I chose to use this effect in order to emphasise on the disguise, rather than the person behind it. By casting my eyes downwards, it hides any emotion from the image. I chose to have the image in reds to create a warm image, contrasted by the lack of expression - specifically on the mask rather than myself.
I particually like the out of focus bell in the foreground, as this gives the image depth, showing that the audience is a small distance from the subject. This gives the impression that we are close enough to see the subject, but not close enough to decipher the meaning behind the disguise she hides in.
Technical aspects: NikonD3100. Shutter Speed 1/15. F4.2.

I chose to include this second photograph because I felt that the focal point was interesting. The colours in this image are not as vibrant as the previous one, however with the focal point being the lower part of the mask and the subjects hair, there is a atmosphere of subtelty in this image. This image is significantly lighter than the previous one, even though I edited the levels to include shadows. Once again, the eye is hidden in shadow, making the main focus the mask rather than the model.
Overall, I think this photoshoot worked out well. I think for a spur of the moment, I have produced two very good images that represent my theme of Disguise perfectly. I have also achieved Mary Raines style of shooting self portraiture, rather than using a model.
